LoRa node
Install the LoRa node firmware
A LoRa node is a small radio. It lets Mission Pro reach your team where there is no mobile coverage. Install the firmware here, then pair the node with the app.
Choose your board
Connect the board to a computer that runs Chrome or Edge.
Plug it in, then press this and choose its port. Only the port's USB id is read.
Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V4
The version is printed on the board.
- Fit the LoRa antenna, then connect the board's USB-C port to this computer with a cable that carries data.
- Press Install, choose the board's port in the list and follow the steps.
- If no port is listed, hold PRG, tap RST, let go of PRG and try again.
A board that already runs this firmware keeps its region, mode and name.
Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V3
The version is printed on the board.
- Fit the LoRa antenna, then connect the board's USB-C port to this computer with a cable that carries data.

Still no port? Some computers need the CP210x driver: Download it from Silicon Labs
A board that already runs this firmware keeps its region, mode and name.
SenseCAP T1000-E
- Download the firmware file.
- Hold the button and plug the USB cable in twice, until the green light stays on and a drive appears.
- Drag the file onto that drive. The drive disappears and the board restarts.

Mission Pro firmware or Meshtastic
Both work with Mission Pro. The difference is the firmware on the node.
| Mission Pro firmware | Meshtastic firmware | |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | All in the Mission Pro app | Region and speed in the Meshtastic app, the rest in Mission Pro |
| Without a phone | Yes, with its own name and team | No |
| Boards | Heltec V4, SenseCAP T1000-E | Most Meshtastic boards |
| Meshtastic users | Cannot join your group | Can join with the group's channel name and key |
| Updates | From the Mission Pro app | With Meshtastic's tools |
Mission Pro firmware
- Pros: built for Mission Pro. The node shows your group and callsign, sends an alarm when you hold the button, works as a tracker and ignores other messages. Everything is set up and updated from the app.
- Cons: fewer boards, and people with Meshtastic devices cannot join your group.
Meshtastic firmware
- Pros: nothing to flash if you already have a node, many boards to choose from, people with Meshtastic devices can join your group.
- Cons: you need the Meshtastic app for region and speed and the node cannot work without a phone.
After flashing
Open Mission Pro and go to Setup → Network → LoRa Node, then pair the node. A new node needs its region set before it can send.
